WHAT WE BELIEVE

OUR BELIEFS

For guidance in our faith, we look to the Bible and the Book of Confessions. We believe that the Bible is the most authoritative source for all people and that the statements of doctrine within the Book of Confessions most accurately express our beliefs. We understand these beliefs through study, contemplation and worship.

APOSTLES’ CREED

I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body;

and the life everlasting.

*universal

We recognize two sacraments, as described in the Bible, baptism and communion.

BAPTISM

Baptism is a significant moment in the life of our church community. We hold a belief in both infant and adult baptisms. Through this sacrament, we celebrate and honor God's choosing of us long before we ever knew Him. In the case of infant or child baptisms, it represents a family/parental promise to provide every opportunity for the child to know and choose God in their life. For our adult baptisms, it is a public declaration of faith and a statement of unification with our

Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

COMMUNION

We believe that Communion, also known as The Lord's Supper, is a sacred practice that serves as a reminder of the love and compassion that God has for all people. During Communion, we share bread and wine, which represent the sacrificial body and blood of Christ. This practice also recalls the last meal that Christ shared with his Apostles and symbolizes the new covenant between God and all people. All members and visitors are welcome to join us in Communion and receive the symbols of

God's grace and love.
