Courtney was raised nearby in Camden, Arkansas. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from The University of Arkansas in 1997,

a Master of Divinity degree from Oral Roberts in 2003, Master of Theology degree from Princeton in 2005, and a Master in New Testament Studies and an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2018. Courtney is a licensed Marriage and Family therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has experience as a college chaplain and as an adjunct professor at various seminaries. She also has experience with individual and couple’s counseling, group counseling and grief counseling.

In October of  2015, Courtney was ordained here at First Presbyterian Church. Courtney and her husband Ron Latina have two daughters, Lilliana and Micah (husband Will), and granddaughter Emma.
